This Tech Tip demonstrates how both the NEC SL2100and NEC SL1100 phone systems can be conveniently programmed from a remote location via the PCPro Software.
The most common method of remotely connecting your PCPro to an SL2100 or SL1100 is to use port forwarding rules in the network router.
At the Phone System Location
Set a forwarding rule within the router at the phone system’s location that forwards TCP Port 8000 traffic to the Local IP Address of the SL phone system.
At the Remote Location
Then, the remote PCPro user enters the public IP Address of the phone system site’s router in place of the Local IP Address.
PCPro’s TCP 8000 traffic will then be sent over the Internet to the main site’s router, and the router will forward the traffic to the Local IP Address of the SL phone system.
